| The event will be held in Capel Newydd Vestry Hall, Crescent Road, Llandeilo SA19 6HN https://www.welshwildlife.org/events/2023-10-18-save-red-squirrel-east-carmarthenshire-local-group-event This is a public lecture fundraising event given by Ben Allen of the Wildlife Trust in aid of the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales. There will be an admission charge of £3 for both members and non-members. Please some along and support us. There is free parking after 6pm in the main car park nearby. The talk will cover: Introductory background on the situation for red squirrels in Wales (and the UK in general), and some historical information on how this occurred. Threats to red squirrels. Differences between red and grey squirrels. Why grey squirrels are problematic. An overview of the Mid Wales Red Squirrel Project. Details of our recent and current work in red squirrel conservation in the Mid Wales Red Squirrel Focal Site and discussion of the methodologies we use. How to get involved/support our work.
