Plantlife Orchid Count – 4 July – Cae Blaen-Dyffryn

Plantlife are planning an orchid count day at its Carmarthenshire based reserve – Cae Blaen-Dyffryn for the 4th July.  This is a second count to test the reliability of the counting across the two weeks and to ensure they haven’t missed any late bloomers.

They’ve had to limit numbers to 20 as it’s a relatively small site, so would be grateful if any who wish to attend could contact them at volunteering@plantlife.org.uk to express their interest as it will be on a first come first served basis (make sure to state that it’s for the orchid count so you don’t get missed).

The meeting point is subject to numbers also so they will send out an email to interested parties closer to the date with further details. The plan is to meet at 10am and aiming to be done around 2pm at the latest. So, if you fancy a break from the election day politics and like the sound of searching for some beautiful orchids, go join them! Not a bad way to spend a Thursday morning either!
