The Carbon Community is celebrating Great Big Green Week with Tree Walks at Glandwr Forest. Glandwr Forest is a new native broadleaf forest and is home to The Carbon Community’s landmark Carbon Study which aims to help trees absorb more carbon from the air by accelerating tree growth and improving soil biodiversity.
The forest is also home to veteran trees, majestic mature Oaks, ancient semi-natural woodland, species-rich grassland, newly laid hedgerows and more. The walks will be led by local expert Sonia Winder from Tilhill Forestry, who is both a Chartered Forester and Chartered Environmentalist, together with a trustee of the Carbon Community. The walk will be 120 minutes and the uneven terrain includes walking trails, stiles, and grasses. There will be two walk times – 10 am and 1.30 pm.
