We have a host of interesting things for you here:
Firstly – the ideal Christmas Present – a CMG T-Shirt or Hoody.
Like many other conservation organisations, we are working with Teemill, based on the Isle of Wight. As you may already know, Teemill manufacture using either organic or recycled cotton, power their factory with renewable energy and only manufacture to order. The designs have been created by Kate Smith from our steering group. CMG will receive a small amount for every garment sold. You can visit the CMG store here:
https://carmarthenshiremeadowsgroup.teemill.com
and if you click on any of the designs you’ll find information on what colours are available, and sizing advice.
Secondly – a link to an important and interesting talk
The local group in Cardiff of the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales held an online presentation on 22nd November on the future of farming and wildlife in Wales. The speakers were both from Wildlife Trust Wales: Rachel Sharp, Director and Rhodri Irranca-Davies, Nature Recovery Manager.
We think the subject matter will be of great interest to anyone managing land for biodiversity and anyone concerned about the future for farming and wildlife in Wales. The majority of the landmass of Wales is farmed. The Wildlife Trusts’ aim is to have 30% of the land in Wales being managed for nature. If this is to be achieved, there will need to be a close partnership with farmers. The event explores the Welsh Government’s proposals for agriculture in Wales post Brexit and what they might mean for the future of sustainable land management and farming in Wales. The meeting is now available to watch on You Tube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AD2D1uzwM4
