CMG stopped indoor meetings when the pandemic arrived and since then we have not been able to have indoor meetings in village halls around the county. For the last two autumns and winters, we have been having online meetings using Zoom, and the talks and discussions arising from them are all available to watch on CMG’s Youtube channel:
About three weeks ago CMG members were asked to vote in a poll so the CMG steering group could gauge the members’ views on whether or not the time was right to return to the village hall type meetings. If you voted in the poll, thank you. We currently have just over 100 members, and of those, about half voted. The question posed in the poll was “Should Carmarthenshire Meadows Group return to having village hall meetings this autumn?” Of the people who voted, 86% (42) voted yes, and 14% (7) voted no. So that’s a decisive result, and we have taken note.
We will therefore be having our Autumn Meeting on October 29th (that’s still just autumn!) starting at 10am in the Myddfai Community Hall.
All are welcome, members have free entry and non-members are asked to pay £2.00 for entry, or they can join the group at the meeting. There will be two talks, each followed by Q&A sessions and discussion, and a chance to meet and chat with others who are tackling the same grassland management issues as you are – this is the whole point of our group, to share knowledge and experience. More details to follow, but please put that date in your diary. It’s been a long time since we had a meeting like this, so we hope you’ll come along on the day – and we look forward to seeing you.
