Events to attend – more for your diaries
This is a program of events for the E Carms group of the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales, which may be of interest to CMG members:
The Wednesday indoor events will take place at the Vestry in the Capel Newydd independent Chapel in Llandeilo at 7.30pm.
Sat Oct 1st – To mark the annual focus on the science and conservation of wild mushrooms, the National Botanic Garden of Wales will be running two guided walks led by two of Wales’ most exciting young mycologists, Emma Williams and Hywel Evans at 11.00 and 1.30pm which we are invited to join in. Unfortunately if you are not Garden members there is an entry fee.
Wed Nov 9th – A talk by Andrew Martin on Meadows, their history and decline and how the meadows groups help with their regeneration
Wed Dec 7th – Vaughn Matthews will talk about the Marsh Fritillary reintroduction.
Wed Jan 11th – A talk about the Curlew recovery project in the Brecon Beacons National park by Nicky Davies
Wed Feb 8th – Rob Parry Jones will talk about the landscape nature conservation work in the Amman Valley.
Wed Mar 8th – Denise Plume will talk about ‘The Carmarthenshire Bat Project – The Story So Far! ‘
Sat Apr 12th at 2pm – At the AGM Peter Hatherley will give three short talks showing how folklore is shaped by the natural environment. Each talk in some way represents our relationship to the natural world.
Sat Apr 22nd – Early Purple Orchid count and Wildflower survey. A walk led by Colin Miles meeting at the Harlech Barn, Llandeilo, SA19 6SD at 2pm
Sat May 13th – Walk in Nicky Matcher’s wood at 2pm. Further details to follow.
